Process
I am a UX Designer that loves creating clean, simplified experiences. The process includes a number of steps – all necessary in order to ensure the final design accomplishes the objective. Here is a very basic outline of the process.
-
Objective: Every design project should start with an understanding of the ultimate objective – what needs to happen as a result of the new design.
-
Research: Whenever accessible and affordable, primary and/or secondary research should be used to help clarify the objective or help understand existing parameters.
-
Whiteboarding: These are brainstorming sessions with team members and stakeholders in order to identify potential pain points in the current situation, and add additional clarity to the ultimate objective.
-
Design: Create wireframes to translate the research, flows and whiteboard information into a faster, simpler user flow to present to stakeholders for review.
-
Finalize wireframes based on feedback from stakeholders and proceed to implementation.
Project 1
Objective - Revamp the cell phone upgrade process on the web and mobile application in order to improve the customer experience and increase sales.

Both app and web flows were mapped with pain points identified by user test marked in red.

In order to get users into the upgrade flow we needed to create a better experience to inform them that they were eligible.

The goal of this session was to come up with ways to shorten the steps a user would have to complete.
Outcome - Designed and presented a simplified solution that was more user friendly and reduced the upgrade path by 50%.
Project 2
Objective - Introduce the ability to make various types of payments via the Sprint mobile app in order to improve user experience and reduce late payment amounts.

Given the opportunity to redesign the app we introduced all new billing features to make view and paying your bill with ease.

Adding the ability to manage a wallet and make payments has made the app the most popular method for users to pay their bill.

With the introduction of Quick Pay users can take care of their bill with just a push of a button.
Outcome - Designed and launched the ability to pay your Sprint bill via the mobile application. The app now successfully processes more monthly transactions than the website or customer care calls.
Project 3
Objective - Design new and exciting concepts for the Chrysler Vehicle Program utilizing their in vehicle telematic systems.

One of the first jobs at Sprint was working on the Chrysler Vehicle Program. Concept work for their dashboard touchscreen.

This interaction would allow users to create custom layouts for up to three apps.

Users can sync all their devices for a seamless experience.
Outcome - Designed several projects to be incorporated in future Chrysler Vehicle Program releases.
